Ninety-nine / Easter Day

The resurrection accounts are tense, I think: not knowing what to think, a lot of running here and there, fear and confusion. The whole thing is ambiguous – a missing body which was being guarded – and strange – folks dressed in white at the foot and head of the not-present-cadaver. And I think it would only be right to admit that I also find it strange and bewildering. The women at the end of Mark’s gospel (shorter ending) are afraid and I identify with that too. I wanted to end this small series with a big climactic piece to celebrate what is undoubtedly a critical moment in history – mine as well as humanity’s – but what I actually have is much closer to the gospel narratives. And I think I’m ok with that.

And by the way, Happy Easter!
